- Due to unpredictable weather conditions, adventure sports like Paragliding are bound to get cancelled at the last moment, ensure to check cancellation charges and other details with notable operators.
- Children below 12 years of age are not allowed to participate in adventure activities.
- Due to heavy snowfall, the Rohtang pass remains closed from November to April.
- You'll need a permit to enter Sethan Valley, which is available at Hydro Project check post in Prini for INR 100.
- Tourists are advised to check the weather conditions during monsoons (June to August) as the region is susceptible to landslides.

The weather is pleasant for most of the months with tourists flocking especially during the summer months. The winters are cold with some days of snow from mid-December till February end.

Vehicles are not allowed on the Mall Road, however there's a car parking facility at a walkable distance.
From the lower mall road to the upper mall road, there's a lift facility at INR 10 per head. The lift operates from 8:00 AM - 9:00 PM.
It is preferable to hire an experienced driver to drive in steep hilly regions of Shimla.
Photography is strictly not allowed in most temples, however, feel free to enquire before clicking pictures.
Some of the attractions like Kali Bari Temple, Green Valley are over hill tops hence they require tourists to go on foot. It's best to be precautious if you have physical ailments.
Attractions like Jakhu Temple have a ropeway/cable car to reach the top which can be availed with a ticket. It's mostly free for children below the age of 3. ops, cafes and restaurants.

- It's best to avoid travelling to Mcleodganj during Monsoons (July to August) due to heavy downpour.

However, in Dharamsala, you have a unique opportunity to stay in a monastery, speak to the monks, attend pujas, and partake in Tibetan spirituality. Guyto monastery has got rooms for rent for their visitors.
